"The Human Face of Climate Change"
- photo exhibition
CARE recognises that the consequences of climate change pose the greatest threat in history to realizing our vision of a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security". With the The Human Face of Climate Change" photo exhibition we have set out to visualise and explain how many of the people we serve are experiencing the dramatic consequences of climate change in their day-to-day lives.
CARE is using this photo exhibition to inform key decision makers - that the world's poorest people are the hardest hit by climate change though they have contributed least to causing it. In order to reduce their vulnerability, we need to dramatically expand their access to the information, financial resources and technical support that facilitate adaptation to climate change. We also need to confront those persistent socio-economic and political inequities that limit poor people's ability to adapt.
The exhibition will be on display at the European Development Days in Lisbon from 7th - 9th November 2007.
