Dr. Helene Gayle, President of CARE USA, was among the keynote speakers at an event focusing on The Importance of Avoided Deforestation Policy. Protecting Rainforests, Communities and Our Climate: How U.S. climate legislation can make a difference. The event featured a Nobel Peace Prize Panel led by Professor Wangari Maathai, recipient of the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize and Al Gore Jr., Recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
